Frequently asked questions about the electric camper
Here you'll find answers to frequently asked questions about the Outbase ID, Buzz, and e-Fixxter XXL electric campers. Is your question not listed? Let us know.
How far can I drive with an electric camper?
Perhaps the most frequently asked question, especially by people new to electric driving. During the warmer months, you can easily reach 250 km on a full charge with the e-Fixxter XXL, and with the Outbase ID.Buzz, you can even reach 350 km. But the average camper actually doesn't drive much more than about 200 km a day. . .
How long does it take to recharge?
Our electric campervans all have fast-charging capabilities. This allows you to fully charge your campervan in 30-45 minutes. This is especially convenient along the highway. In the city or at your destination, charging usually takes a few hours.
Can I charge anywhere?
The number of charging stations in Europe has grown significantly in recent years. Especially along the highways, you can find them virtually anywhere. Our campervans have been to many locations in Europe, from England and Scotland to Poland and Croatia, and charging hasn't been a problem anywhere. However, it's always advisable to plan your charging stops and be mindful of areas where charging stations are less common.
Is there enough space for children?
All our electric e-Fixxter and Outbase ID. Buzz campers have four seats with seatbelts and four sleeping places. There's also plenty of storage space.
For extra space, you can book our 550-liter luggage box or our bus tent, which offers plenty of extra outdoor space and sleeping space.
The campers are also suitable for young babies. Child seats can be easily secured to the bench seat (no Iso-fix, but it is on the passenger seat of the Outbase ID. Buzz), and we can install additional safety devices on the pop-up roof.
What happens if I have damage?
It's frustrating when it happens, but the risk of damage is always present. You have a deductible of €1,500 per incident, and we'll work with you to find a suitable solution. If you're unexpectedly unable to continue your trip, our insurance will cover alternative transportation and accommodation in most cases.
You can also reduce your deductible or even buy it out entirely. You'll then pay an additional amount for each booked day. More information is available when you make your booking.
Can my dog come too?
Yes, your dog is welcome to travel with you. However, we do charge an additional cleaning fee.
Does the camper have environmental stickers?
Our campers are equipped with environmental stickers for Germany, France and Spain as standard.
Can I cancel after booking?
While it's certainly undesirable, you may still need to cancel your trip. The sooner you notify us, the lower the cancellation fee. See our Booking page for details. It's always recommended to take out cancellation insurance to avoid this risk.
Is there a limit on the number of kilometers?
The number of kilometers you can drive is unlimited. You don't pay an additional fee per kilometer. A fair-use policy does apply, meaning the distance traveled must be reasonably consistent with the duration of the booking and the destination.
I am allergic to pets
Dogs are also allowed in our electric campervans. They will receive an extra cleaning after booking, but this can still be a problem for people with severe allergies. We try to ensure that some of our campervans always remain dog-free. It's best to contact us to discuss the possibilities.
Can I use my own bicycle carrier?
If you already have a bike rack, you can simply use it on the tow bar of our electric camper. A white license plate is included, and a 7-pin to 13-pin adapter is also available.
How big is the luggage compartment?
The luggage compartment consists of a large compartment under the sofa bed, space on the sofa bed itself, and some built-in cupboards.
Do the campers have winter tires?
Our campers are equipped with all-season tires with the 2PMSF (snowflake) designation. This means they are permitted in countries where winter tires are mandatory during the winter. These tires provide safe grip in snowy conditions, but we don't recommend them for extreme winter conditions.
