EV Camper was founded in 2021 by Audrey and Rutger. They live in Amersfoort with their son Dexter and dog Balou, enjoy an active and outdoorsy lifestyle, are active in sports, and love getting out and about. Their passion for travel and sustainability led them to launch EV Camper in 2021. Since then, they've completely fallen in love with traveling in an electric campervan.
Edwin has also been co-owner of EV Camper since 2025. Edwin is a college friend of Rutger's, an avid camper, and has frequently traveled with his wife Elise and their children Stan and Maes in their electric camper in recent years. His enthusiasm for camping and his background in organizational consulting make him a valuable addition to our team.
With his arrival, we are further strengthening our position as EV Camper as a family business, where personal attention, fun and sustainability are central.

With EV Camper, we want to offer you the opportunity to make beautiful journeys in a way that fits the future: sustainable, comfortable, and adventurous. Our electric campers are equipped with everything you need, and we're always ready to help – whether that's with tips on electric driving or answering questions along the way.
We know from personal experience that traveling with an electric campervan is a relaxing way to vacation. You travel at a more leisurely pace, take your time to enjoy yourself, and return home refreshed. With the ever-increasing number of charging stations and all the handy apps to help you, you'll discover all the beautiful places Europe has to offer.
How we started
For years, Rutger and Audrey dreamed of exploring Europe in a campervan. When they discovered that this was now also possible with electricity, everything fell into place. In 2021, they purchased their first two Peugeot e-Experts, which Fixxter converted into the first e-Fixxter XXL electric campervans.
That turned out to be a bull's-eye. We're now five seasons in, have multiple locations with 16 campers in our fleet – including the popular Outbase ID. Buzz campers in addition to the Fixxters – and have already seen many travelers enjoy their holidays with a smile and a fully charged battery.
Edwin & Elise have had an alcove camper for many years and are now completely enthusiastic about the possibilities of the electric camper.
